Mothers & Meringues: 10 Steps to a Perfect Meringue

No gift for mom yet? Don’t worry! Jen’s got your back!

Here’s a last minute recipe to give to your mama for tomorrow’s Mother’s Day and any other day! A very simple and easy meringue recipe. I got this idea from Pinterest and the recipe from Bakers Royalehttp://www.bakersroyale.com/easy-meringue-recipe/. But since I didn’t have any food color at home, I decided to make it simple.

Ingredients:

30 g of egg whites (3 pieces of eggs)

3/4 cups of granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon vinegar

And of course, don’t forget your mixing bowl and mixer!

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients listed above!

Step 2: Preheat your oven to 200 degrees F or 93 degrees C.

Step 3 (This is where the fun begins!): Pour the egg whites in a bowl and whip with a hand mixer until it forms stiff peaks.

Step 4: Add sugar, vanilla, and vinegar. Increase speed until mixture is smooth and thick.

–  I didn’t have a piping bag and a nozzle so I used a zip lock instead –

Step 5: Line bake sheet with parchment paper.

Step 6: Cut one edge of the zip lock bag and start piping! I was suppose to pipe it 1-inch apart but I had a hard time so I piped them everywhere..and in different styles and sizes may I add HAHA!

Step 7: Put the tray in the oven and cook it for around 1 1/2 – 2 hours.

Step 8: Bring it out of the oven and let it cool.

Step 9: Design it with whatever or however you want..or not!

Step 10: Enjoy it with a cup of tea on the side so it balances the sweetness!
